The Honda S2000 was one of the most appreciated models in the
Japanese carmaker’s history and now it looks like the company is
pondering a successor for the sports car, with the model being its
response to the Toyota GT86, SUbaru BRZ and Scion FR-S triplets.
It looks like Honda US product planners are asking for the car to be
built, while their counterparts from Japan don’t see the project as
being so important. This is because Honda has a much bigger plan that
will see multiple models be facelifted or receive new generation in the
following years, as the company wants to completely transform its range.
It all starts with the new Civic, which will be revamped this fall
following negative test drive conclusions, with the car set to receive
multiple interior changes. In the fall we’ll also get the 2013 Accord, a
new generation that will use two new Earth Dream units: a 181 hp
2.4-liter 4-cylinder and a 314 hp 3.5-liter V6.
2013 will see Honda launch a new generation of the Crosstour, which will
,of course, be closely related to the Accord. One year later, Honda
will introduce a new Ridgeline and Pilot, which are expected to lose the
angular styling cues of the present generations. In 2015, the
automotive producer is scheduled to give the world a fresh Insight, as
well as a crossover that will use the Fit as a starting point.
