Wow....
Company executives are usually very reserved in their
statements, always careful not to offend the buyer or put their company
in a bad light. However, the CEO of Mitsubishi Australia, Mutsuhiro
Oshikiri seems to be different. He became CEO just ten weeks ago, and
since then has been criticizing the brand’s Astralian lineup.
He went on to say that "the product is too old...the prices are too high [. . .] I don't know why people buy a Mitsubishi...What is the benefit?...I have to find out."
This harsh criticism is partially justified, as Mitsubishi hasn’t
really been on a roll recently, and perhaps, some new and/or refreshed
models would bring more customers into their showrooms and convince them
that one of their cars is just right.
We say that if all people had attitudes similar to Mr. Oshikiri’s, then
the auto industry would have been a much smoother-running and
conspiracy-free business, which would have been achieved for the greater
good of all involved, from its workers to the buyers who genuinely got
what they paid for.
