Honda Freed gets new Grade S version in Malaysia

The Malaysian division of Honda has recently announced that the new Freed variant, which is named the Freed S, has been introduced on its local auto market.

According to the Japanese based automaker, the all-new Honda Freed S can be already ordered at the company’s dealerships across Malaysia and the model has a starting price of RM99,800, on the road with insurance, being significantly cheaper than the Grade E, which is priced from RM113,493. Honda says that because of the lowered price, the sliding rear doors are now manually operate, the air conditioning is manual too, the Freed S is losing its Alpine DVD player and tail spoiler and here are no indicators for the side mirrors or intermittent wipers.

The Honda Freed S is getting just about everything else which is found on the higher spec, the Grade E, including the safety kit with the ABS (antilock braking system), EBD (electronic brakeforce distribution) and the BA (brake assist). Honda says that the 1.5 liter i-VTEC engine is still providing a total output of 118 PS at 6,600 rpm and it has a peak torque of 146 Nm available at 4,800 rpm. The Honda Freed S is available in three colors, Crystal Black Pearl, Polished Metal Metallic and Brilliant White Pearl.
