Next Gen Honda Ridgeline

Well, although there has been alot of speculation as to whether Honda will continue with a Next Generation Ridgeline Truck, I for one think that the current market conditions are ripe for it! Light truck sales have been strong and there have been quite a few inquiries into what Honda has planned for the next Ridgeline.

Try as I may, I haven't seen any concept drawing or anything! Whatever Honda has planned, they are keeping their cards close to their chest!

So, here begins the "What Should Honda do to the Next Ridgeline".... Post your ideas in the comments section, and let's see what comes up, who knows, maybe Honda's listening....

*April 2014 UPDATE*
Here is an official sketch of the direction Honda is going with the Next Ridgeline.
Rumours persist of the Ridgeline being silently retired for 2015 and to be introduced in 2016 as a early 2017 model.
Honda is actively coming up with ideas for this truck as we speak.

Don't change anything except a gear 6 for the tranny. And maybe a diesel.

A 6 Speed Transmission would be nice. Power passenger seat and backup sensors as standard equipment on all Leather models.

An extra 6 to 12 inches on the box length and a little more power would be nice. Other than that not alot of change required

A SIX SPEED TRANSMISSION WOULD BE GREAT . A LOCKABLE TAILGATE IS NEEDED. I KNOW YOU HAVE THE TRUNCK THAT LOCK. BUT THE TAILGATE SHOULD TOO.POWER PASSENGER SEAT , AUTO HEAD LIGHT, REAR WINDOW DEFOGGER, LEATHER STEERING WHEEL, CUP HOLDER IN THE FRONT DOOR POCKET,GET RID OF THE OLD ROD TO HOLD UP THE HOOD, TAILGATE SHOULD BE THE SAME HIEGHT OR THE BED.

So glad to hear it isn't going away! Every Ridgeline owner I know (50 or so)absolutely love it! Even a dealer principal of a completely different car make! Just keep it coming and up to date w the latest safety and efficiency technology possible, as Honda always does..

I am on my 3d one. The lockable trunk is a must. More Pilot-like interior would be nice upgrade. I will be one of the first!

Hi, I own a 08, the drive train is the best so keep that or upgrade it, i would like to see better fuel economy with a higher towing rating,
Diesel maybe???
My knee hits the light switch, passenger seat needs back heat, smaller blind spots on each side, a few more tie down points on each side in the bed, protection from the muffler and exhaust if you drive accross a field i think it will set the vegetation on fire (note i am not 4 wheeling just taking lunch out to the guys in the field or checking cattle), locable tailgate, rear window defroster, better floor mats that cover all, radio led's are to low at low dash light settings either set it brighter or give it its own brightness control, backup sensors, brakes accumulate debris when driving in dust/dirt pads need to be on the rear side of the wheel on all 4 wheels so the dirt falls down and off not into the brake pads, Keep the size the same, include a wired hitch did i say better fuel economy, more HP or better yet more torque and more towing capacity (say 6500) but lighter. Thanks

Variable Cylinder Management for better fuel economy, center console/arm rest a little wider to rest elbows without reaching,a slightly longer box, make the following features standard on the EX-L or EXL-Navi: auto head lights, auto dimming side and rearview mirrors, rain sensing wipers, backup sensors, air conditioned front seats, add back heat for front seats, power passenger seat

Hmmm... Better fuel economy maybe. It's is sad to see a full size truck with a V-8 that gets the same (or better) mileage. Come on Honda, you can do better.

More power, better fuel economy, slightly longer bed (even 2" would help), memory seats, more front seat cup holders.

I have an 2008 and love mine! I do wish that Honda would add a V8 to the line up for more power etc. I would like to see more tech included with bluetooth standard, backup sensor/camera w/o having to get full Navi. A bit longer bed, locking tailgate, bigger side mirrors that retract when parked to cut down the blind spots, higher towing rate. I have yet to run into anything that my existing couldn't do so far. Love the in bed trunk for storing work equipment!!! Come on Honda get the tech up and give us a better engine please!

The new Ridgeline should get added ground clearance, and 4wd low

-MPG must be better with trucks like the f-150 getting in the 20's and have towing capacity of 10,000 lbs...
-6 speed would be great for mpgs, performance, and towing, and to top it off have a tiptronic style gear selector to take full advantage of those gears.
-Needs torque, honesty not a fan of my ridge looking to v-tec when pulling a load close to its limit, makes me feel like i am severely shortening the life of my driveline when pulling 4500 lbs..
-needs a bit more room in the back seats

As an owner of a 2008 Ridgeline, I hope Honda stays in the light truck market. The Ridgeline is ideal for our winter conditions in Rochester, NY: great handling in snow and ice. I'd hate to have to switch to Toyota or an American truck if the Ridgeline goes away. Some potential improvements: 1) Snow builds up in windshield wiper well, which eventually forces wipers to shut down. 2) Better gas mileage. 3) Fabric seats stain too easily. 4) A better folding tonneau cover that comes closer to the BacFlip, and allows complete folding and easy removal from the trcuk. 5) Not much else, because I think they got the truck just about right the first time they launched it in the US.

, Keep the unibody, and independent suspension and v6 power. Try direct injection with cylinder management for more power and better fuel economy. At least one more cog in the transmission is a must.
More attention to reducing road and wind noise. All of the big three have much quieter cabs. Some tweaking of the appearance to reduce wind drag and give the Ridgeline a bit more class would be nice. Honda has the engineers and experience to make a very good truck into a great one . Come on Honda get your old mo joe back. Your increase in sales will reward your loyal customers ,bring new ones on board and flow directly to your bottom line profit.

Diesel! Double Torque and fuel mileage!

I'd like the new redesigned Ridgeline to be a compact pickup something like the Toyota A-BAT concept. It should have the ability to haul 4 x 8 sheets, have some form of RWD/AWD, perform well in crash testing, get good MPG (maybe a hybrid version), and have a base price of under $20K. I like manual transmissions but a dual-clutch automatic would be OK too.

I have my 2nd Ridgeline. Went from a 2008 to a 2011. I love the truck size handling performance & it fits in my Garagen Not everyone needs a Full size Silverado. I have a 24 ft camper and it pulls it with no problem. I'm really like a a good looking truck and it's time for a change. What ever they do put Dual exhaust like the Pilot and add 20
" wheels. Maybe a floor shift or a shifter on the dash like the pilot. Just don't change the size.
