There are so many factors to consider such as age, mileage, general condition, segment and brand of the vehicle make a whole lot of difference in ascertaining its value. If strong residual value is what you are looking for in a vehicle, then Honda would be a good choice, as the manufacturer from Japan has won six consecutive Automotive Lease Guide residual award. The Acura division of Honda joined its less expensive counterpart for the first time by taking the highest position for luxury vehicles, too, making it a an overall win for Honda.

Even though Toyota finished fourth overall in the voting, it managed to garner the most number of awards in the overall segment. Subaru won the second place overall in the residual values category. In the light pickup truck category Ford’s F-150 scored high. Of the 18 overall segment awards, Japanese automakers won 11, while U.S. carmakers won or shared only three segments.
