2016 Honda Civic Hatchback Prototype - Studio and Promotional Videos
The next-generation Civic hatchback makes its global debut in prototype form at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. The design of the prototype heralds a significant step-change from previous versions of Honda’s core European model, focusing on provocative design and rewarding driving dynamics.
The all-new Civic hatchback will be 30 mm wider, 20 mm lower and 130 mm longer than the current generation. New larger and wider wheels and tyres give a feeling of an assured stance, while the long wheelbase, short overhangs and sleek cabin area further add to the dynamic feel of the exterior.

New Honda hatchback concept for China leaked in patent drawings
Not too sure how close this is going to be to the Hatchback we get here in North America....
Looks different from the Civic sedan.
Leaked patent images have revealed the exterior design of a Honda hatchback concept that will be exclusive to the Chinese market.
The exterior design appears to be significantly different to the 2016 Honda Civic sedan sold in the U.S., featuring a Honda CR-Z inspired face with sleek LED headlamps, large hexagonal grille in the bumper, sporty intakes and a contoured hood. The rear-end starts to draw design cues from the latest Civic, with boomerang LED taillights that run across the rear profile and a new bumper. The design seems to adopt a fastback approach.
The production-spec model will likely comprise of the 1.0-liter and 1.5-liter VTEC Turbo engines. Reports suggest that the smaller 1.0-liter unit will be capable of producing 127 PS and 200 Nm, and paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox, while the output figures of the 1.5-liter engine could be identical to the U.S.-spec Civic: 174 hp and 220 Nm.
Honda is currently prepping the Honda Civic hatchback for European markets, which will go on sale in early-2017. The production version is expected at the Geneva Motor Show next month.

Honda readies its new Civic Hatchback for Geneva

When Honda debuted its new global Civic, which marks the car's 10th generation, it said there would be three official variants -- sedan, coupe and hatchback. We've seen the first two, and now we'll see the third (in prototype form) in March at the Geneva Motor Show.
Of course, seeing the car doesn't mean it'll be arriving in dealerships any time soon. According to Honda, the car won't launch -- at least in Europe -- until "early 2017." Considering it's being produced at Honda's UK manufacturing facility, we'd bet on a slightly later arrival in the States.
The teaser image seen here doesn't give away much, but it does look properly aggressive, with the same design language seen on the Civics sedan and coupe. The center-mounted tailpipes could even hint towards a high-performance model -- both the Si and Type-R models have yet to show their faces. Then again, being a prototype, anything is possible.

All-new Honda Civic 5-door to arrive in late-2016

The tenth generation Honda Civic was first introduced as a sedan and saw the addition of a coupe version last year. Towards the end of the 2016, the tenth generation range will welcome the 5-door hatchback version, as per a report from Autocar.
The 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback will likely be available with the all-new 1.0-litre VTEC TURBO three-cylinder petrol engine and 1.5-litre VTEC TURBO (1.5L T will be for North America) four-cylinder petrol engine, as well as the current 1.6-litre i-DTEC turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine. These would be mated to 6-speed manual or continuously variable transmission, with power being sent only to the front wheels.
According to the report, the 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine will produce 127 bhp and 148 lb.-ft. of torque and replace the current 1.8-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. Citing sources in Japan, the report says that the company’s smallest turbocharged engine to be offered in the Civic Hatchback will have a CO2 rating of 99 g/km.
Noteworthy features of the 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback should include front and rear LED lights, electronic parking brake, Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow, Collision Mitigation Braking, Road Departure Mitigation and 7-inch high-definition Display Audio infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.
The global-spec 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback will be built at Honda’s Swindon Plant in the UK and likely be followed by the 2018 Honda Civic Type-R

Honda recently revealed its all-new, 10th-generation Civic, but so far only in the car's sedan bodystyle. There’s still a new Civic Coupe waiting in the wings and this time around we’ll also see a Civic Hatchback offered.
It was previously thought the hatch would simply be the Civic Hatchback currently sold overseas, as Honda confirmed earlier in the year that we’ll be getting the hatch from the plant in the United Kingdom responsible for the current Civic Hatchback.
However, Honda confirmed this week that a next-generation Civic Hatchback, one sharing the global platform developed for the 10th-generation Civic, will be introduced in Europe in early 2017, and it’s almost certain this is the version we’ll see in local showrooms. It will still be sourced from the U.K. plant, but it will be a next-generation design completely unrelated to the current Civic Hatchback.
Our spy shots show a test mule for the vehicle, which means the sheet metal you see here is not an indication of the final design (in fact, the makeshift body combines elements from the current Civic hatch as well as Acura's ILX). The car should feature the same interior design and mechanicals as the Civic sedan, which means powertrains will include turbocharged 1.5- and 2.0-liter four-cylinder engines. There will also be a new Civic Type R variant, a test mule for which has also been spotted.
We should see the new Civic Hatchback unveiled sometime in 2016, as a 2017 model
